This guide shows you how to manage files in PodUp’s File Manager. Learn how to view, sort, filter, and organize content like videos and documents, star important files, and recover deleted ones.
1. Click "Files"
2. Click "All Files"
3. File Manager page opens up
4. Click the "Grid" icon
Grid: When "Grid view" is active, files and folders are displayed as larger tiles or cards, often showing a thumbnail preview along with the name
5. Click the "List" icon
List: When "List view" is active, files and folders are displayed in a vertical list format. Each item usually takes up one row and shows more detailed information in columns
6. Click "Sort" and select from the options
7. Click "Info" icon to get details of the selected files
8. Click "Upload" to upload any file from your system
9. Click "New folder" to add a new folder
10. A popup window appears
Enter the name of the new folder
Click "Confirm"
11. Click "All Files"
All Files: This is the default view that displays all the files and folders you have uploaded or created within your website's file manager, regardless of their type or age. It provides a complete overview of your stored assets
12. Click "Recent"
Recent: This filter shows you files that have been recently uploaded or modified. It's extremely useful for quickly accessing the content you've been working on most recently without having to search through all your files
13. Click "Videos"
Videos: This filter specifically displays only video files (e.g., .mp4, .mov, .webm) that you have uploaded. This helps in managing and selecting your video content efficiently
14. Click "Audios"
Audio: This filter displays only audio files (e.g., .mp3, .wav, .aac) that you have uploaded. This helps in managing and selecting your audio content efficiently
15. Click "Images"
Images: This filter displays only image files (e.g., .jpeg, .png, .gif, .webp) that you have uploaded. This is useful for managing website graphics, featured images, and gallery assets
16. Click "Guest"
Guest: This is a more specialized category, likely specific to a podcasting platform. It probably stores or allows you to manage content (e.g., audio clips, images, bios) related to podcast guests. This could be assets provided by guests or materials you've prepared about them
17. Click "Episodes"
Episodes: This is highly specific to a podcasting platform. This filter would display content directly related to your podcast episodes. This might include the final audio files, show notes, episode-specific images, or video versions of episodes
18. Click "Documents"
Documents: This filter displays only document files (e.g., .pdf, .doc, .docx, .txt, .ppt, .xls). This is useful for managing show transcripts, resource guides, PDFs for download, or other text-based materials
19. Click "Starred"
Starred: This is a "favorites" or "bookmark" feature. You can "star" (mark with a star icon) important or frequently used files, and they will then appear in this "Starred" list for quick access. This helps you prioritize and quickly locate your most critical assets
20. Click "Trash"
Trash: This is your recycling bin. When you delete files, they are typically moved to the "Trash" first, rather than being permanently deleted immediately. This allows you to recover files if you accidentally delete them. Files in the trash are usually permanently deleted after a certain period or when you manually empty the trash
